Administrative / Biographical History

The Amalgamated Union of Clothiers Operatives was formed in 1894 from an amalgamation of the Bristol Clothiers Cutters Trade Association and the Leeds Wholesale Clothiers Operatives Union. In 1916 it merged with four other unions to form the United Garment Workers Union.
