There appears to be 2 separate talks on Carvings - (1) on the historic background and general history of stone and (2) Looking at more modern examples of carving - in situ in Kirkburton, Lower Whitley, Edgerton, Greenhead Road, Lindley Clock Tower, Somerset Buildings, Waverley Hotel, Huddersfield Town Hall, Drill Hall etc. Subjects include heads, flowers, foliage, heraldic beasts, mythology, birds, lions, ram's heads, heraldry, fishes etc. Edgar Wood, Stirling Lee and Richard Garner are mentioned.
