Scope and Content

Page in the notebook with two small, hand trimmed black and white photographs pasted onto it, with a manuscript caption in between. The top photograph is of a stone archway leading into a dark tunnel. The bottom photograph is of a view looking up some stone steps, with high stonewalls either side, to a stone archway leading into a dark tunnel. This photograph has been cut so that the corners are not square. [Photograph taken during a holiday in France.]

Physical Characteristics and/or Technical Requirements

Poor condition. Page: yellowed, with faint grey mould patches. Top photograph: faded and yellowed effected by mirroring, severe brown and yellow mould growth centre and right, image faded to white top, some small white spots on the image bottom. Bottom photograph: faded and yellowed some mirroring, noticeable white spotting, small patches of grey and brown mould growth. Slight repair needed. Production method: gelatin silver print, hand cut and pasted.
