Administrative / Biographical History

Robert Davies, better known as Bardd Nantglyn, was born in Nantglyn, Denbighshire in 1769. He was a poet and a grammarian who worked as an apprentice tailor.

He moved to London in 1800 where he was very active with the Gwyneddigion Society. He also won several Eisteddfod competitions for his long odes. He died in 1835.
