From: [Various vocal and instrumental music]
The Catalogue of printed music in the British Library to 1980 (London: K. G. Saur, 1981) lists two settings of songs with this title, one by Samuel Howard, one anonymous. Both are dated [1740?]. The text for these songs, written by Mary Jones, opens "At the brow of a hill". No further concordances in the British union-catalogue of early music printed before the year 1801, ed. Edith B. Schnapper (London: Butterworth Scientific Publications, 1957), or Cyrus Lawrence Day and Eleanore Boswell Murrie, English song-books, 1651-1702: a bibliography (London: Bibliographical Society, 1940).
