"ATTILIO / REGOLO". Short score (with violin parts in the vocalist's stave) of the overture and arias from Johann Adolf Hasse's "Attilio Regolo", with a libretto by Metastasio, which was first staged in Dresden on 12 January 1750. No attribution in this manuscript; for concordances, see Brussels Royal Conservatoire of Music MS 2155, D-B Mus. MS. 9542/1 and D-B Mus. MS 9551. Two arias and the final chorus are lacking in the Mackworth manuscript, although the singers named here are those of the 1750 production. Casing: green-gold board. An index precedes the title-page, in which the title is encased in a dark green musket/branch cartouche. 8-stave MS paper. In a single hand. The bass is not figured. Dynamics are given throughout. Information from other sources for this opera, supplied by Roland Dieter Schmidt, is given in square brackets in the note area of each entry.
