Scope and Content

From Nottingham Street, London, to Mrs Roberts, re spiritual matters and expressing pleasure at Roberts's recovery from ill health.

Mrs Barnwell(?) suprisingly has also made a full recovery, despite her advanced age of ninety-four, and has resumed her trips outside and discussing business with her lawyer.

Alas another of Sally's dear friends is very sick. Mrs Darby (half-sister to Lady [Mary] Manners) was suddenly struck down at the age of ninety, but when visited by Charles and Sally that morning was able to receive them and reminisce about her early life, including the story of a visit to Sally's parents. She is a woman of great moral fibre and benevolence and has moved in the highest circles.

Charles has a very bad cough.
