Scope and Content

From Mrs K. Keysall in Queen Square, London, to Joseph Benson at City Road, thanking him for his visit. It was unfortunate that she did not have the opportunity to speak as freely as she would have wished.

Spiritual matters are discussed.

When she is in London she seems particularly susceptible to colds and coughs, and this prevents her from receiving 'the means of Grace' [the Sacraments]. Also she is 'tied to persons [Mr Keysall]…who oft conduct themselves as if it their study to oppress & tyrannise'.

In a postscript she recalls the first time that she met Benson. It was about thirty four years ago, when Benson was preaching at London's West Street Chapel. On the same day a violent storm killed a man outside Tottenham Chapel.
