Scope and Content

Frank Hastings Fisher (1892-1957) was born in Dulwich, London and went to Hong Kong in 1913 on taking up an appointment with the British American Tobacco Co Ltd. His diary is written in the form of a brief, daily letter to his wife, Charlotte. He gives details of camp conditions and privations, camp organisation and small entertainments - pancakes on Shrove Tuesday/kisses at Christmas etc
