This collection contains material created for the 150th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the Rochdale Pioneers Equitable Co-operative Society in 1844, which is known as the first modern co-operative society. Various events took place in and around the town of Rochdale.

Arrangement

The collection has been catalogued in accordance with the original order in which the files were placed. The title of each file is the title given by the person who put the collection together. They are in alphabetical order within each file.

The collection is open to any accredited reader, subject to the requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018.

Some files in this collection are subject to Data Protection legislation as they contain sensitive information and material under 30 years old is closed to access. It is advised that you contact the Archivist before visiting.

These items were collected by the Co-operative Union Library which now forms part of the National Co-operative Archive.
