Letter

Scope and Content

From Samuel Walter at Slaithwaite near Huddersfield to Mary Tooth at Madeley Vicarage. Mrs Walter will be able to inform Tooth about his late affliction during which he was 'wonderfully supported and blessed'. Spirutual matters are discussed. During part of last year, Walter felt that he was approaching the end of his life. 'I was enabled to bear my public testimony as a dying man to preach to dying men and was much strenghened both in body and soul for my engagements. I felt no fear, but my mind was all peace.' He was particularly consoled by the thought that he would be joining his Christian friends who had lived and died in the faith. Spiritual matters are further discussed in detail.

In a postscript, he asks that Tooth write to him via Mrs Walter.
