Scope and Content

From D. Whitmore in Cotsbrook to Mary Tooth. She would be grateful for Tooth's acceptance of the enclosed donation for the Benevolent Society. Whitmore assumes that Tooth will have heard of how things are with them here. It is five weeks since her sister Mary was confined to her bed through 'debility alone with no disease whatever'. It is doubtful whether Mary will be restored to health, but they have reason to be thankful for Mary's spiritual condition. 'She is kept in a state of sweet peace and perfect resignation...her sick room has been a privileged place, the scene of many an ordinance in which we have enjoyed the presence of the Lord'. Spiritual matters are discussed.
