Scope and Content

Manuscript letter from 2 Gower Street [London]. Thinks a resolution from the women's causes regretting the retrograde step taken in the London Government Bill should be sent to local members and Mr. Balfour and the Lord Chancellor, 'I think there is a very general feeling of opposition to the idea thrown out by Mr Balfour of getting women to do the work without giving them any power ... I went to see ...Women's Local Govt. Society yesterday. I think a small conference will be called almost directly to discuss what can be done to strengthen the position of women.'
