Administrative / Biographical History

The Association in its present form dates from 1944/5, but its antecedents include the Long Distance Road Haulage Committee of Enquiry, 1930, the Short Distance Road Haulage Association, 1931, the Associated Road Operators, 1935, the National Conference of Parcels Carriers, 1937, and the Standing Joint Committee, 1939.

Arrangement

The collection is arranged in two series, papers of the Industrial Relations Officer's department and papers of the Secretary's department.
