Administrative / Biographical History

Waldo Williams, poet, was born in 1904 in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire. He attended Narberth Grammar School and the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth where he read English. He was a pacifist and a supporter of Plaid Cymru and is considered to be one of the most original poets of the 20th century. He died in 1971.
