These research papers include interview notes, statistics and printed reports on women's work in Coventry. They include items on female employment at the electrical firm, GEC, and papers on levels of female unemployment in the Coventry area.

Administrative / Biographical History

Colleen Chesterman studied at the University of Sydney before gaining a Diploma in Sociology from the University of Warwick. In 1978 she submitted an MA thesis (Department of Sociology, University of Warwick), 'Women in part-time employment: an investigation of the growth of part-time employment in Britain since World War II, with particular reference to patterns of employment in Coventry'.
