Legal and financial papers relating to the Powells. Includes letters, notices and receipts for payments in connection with debts incurred by the family and the settlement following the death of John Powell etc.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Powell Family of Ty'nllan, Llanfihangel-y-Pennant in Caernarfonshire (now Gwynedd) includes John Powell who died in February 1817. His sons Howell, Robert and Evan, who was an attorney at law and comptroller of the customs at Caernarfon, survived him. Other beneficiaries of the will of John Powell, who were possibly daughters or other relatives, include Ellinor and Elizabeth Powell, Margaret Evans and Jane Jones.


Material is arranged in chronological order and incorporated into the General Collection of Bangor Manuscripts .
