Annual statements of account of various charities
Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The Charity Commission requires registered charities to submit annual statements of account so that the Commission can monitor their activities. These accounts form part of the public records of the Commission, and are periodically transferred to the Public Record Office (now The National Archives). The Public Record Office undertook an appraisal of the records and selected some for retention. Records not selected for retention were transferred to the relevant Record Office or discarded.
Arranged alphabetically by parish and then alphabetically by charity name.
Conditions Governing Access
Transferred by the Public Record Office in February 1984 and from other repositories on various subsequent dates.
