      2 ff., a bifolium manuscript. Written in a single late seventeenth-century hand and formerly folded as a letter. F.2v is inscribed thus: 'Mr James' and 'These for my Lady Long at Draicott near Chippeham in Wiltshire'.

Scope and Content

Comprises a satirical poem on the Declaration of Indulgence, in which poets express their thanks and urge all other loyal subjects to fall in with the King's wishes. For variant manuscript versions see Crum T281, where one Bodleian copy is attributed to Sir Roger L'Estrange.
