A meeting of Gymnastics Teachers in Leeds was held on the 19 March 1918 in Central High School, Leeds. At this meeting it was proposed to form an Association of Gymnastics Teachers in Leeds and District and at a meeting of the 3 May 1918, the name Leeds Swedish Gymnastic Association was proposed and accepted
