Letter, addressed to 'Madam', written from Ellesborough House, Tring, 17 Dec 189 [sic]. Has been prevented by illness in the house from answering her circular of last March. As agreed, she will promise half a guinea subscription and half a guinea towards furnishings, and strongly advises 'against any attempt to start the Club unless an income of at least £200 is positively forthcoming in addition to subscriptions sufficient to cover initial expenses'.
