Correspondence with John Annan Bryce (1843-1923), merchant and politician relating to a request for assistance with an appeal for subscriptions for the Peace with Ireland Council, and for advice on sympathisers for the cause in the north of England who might be approached to set up committees and obtain subscriptions, which are confirmed and provided by Scott.

There is also discussion of the difficulties and delays in the delivery of the Manchester Guardian in the south of England, with reference to the coal strike and delayed trains.

Also included is correspondence with Violet Bryce, wife of John Annan Bryce, relating to discussion of the mistreatment and torture of prisoners by the [British] forces during the [Irish War of Independence], and the need to collect evidence of these events for potential publication, and also for posterity.
