Correspondence with Benjamin Seebohm Rowntree (1871-1954), sociologist and businessman, relating to a request for a short series of articles by Rowntree for the Manchester Guardian on the proposals for public works made by [David] Lloyd George, prime minister. The request is declined, owing to Rowntree's imminent visit to South America, but with the recommendation of William Wallace, businessman, and assistant to Rowntree, to produce the articles in his stead, which is accepted.
