Lease, for 60 years, from 25 March next, for half part of every wey of coal and culm that shall be raised and landed out of and from premises rent 2s 6d and so after that rate for any greater or less quantity than wey, each wey to consist of 11 tons and each ton to contain 20 hundredweight and each hundredweight 120 pounds the extra weight of one ton to the wey to be considered as allowance in lieu of coal generally supplied gratis for use of engines and consumption of agents and colliers engaged in colliery, at all events yearly for said coal and culm rent of £100, 20 Nov 1837; (i) Lucy Bowen, late of town of Swansea but now of Leamington, county of Warwick, widow, to (ii) Joseph Martin of Middle Temple, London, esquire: (i)’s half part of veins, mines and seams of coal and culm in, upon or under messuages, tenements and lands called Glynygorse, Penyrhusva, Hengarth Vach and Tyryvron and now or lately in tenures and occupations of Thomas Isaac, Morris Morris, David Isaac, Benjamin Evans and others, their, some or one of their undertenants or assigns. And also in, upon or under cottage, garden and croft at Heollace, late in tenure of Chauncey Townsend, esquire, his under tenants or assigns but now of Mary Rees and another. All which said messuages, lands, tenements and hereditaments are in parish of Llansamlet
