Scope and Content

The collection includes copies of official papers, newspaper cuttings and photocopies ofcorrespondence relating to the proposed improvement of the A614 and A52 junction at Wollaton,Nottinghamshire. The objections of Peter Hoare, a local resident, and others are recorded. Principalseries in the collection include:

  • Printed papers comprising a report of the public inquiries and a copy of the proposal for thescheme. 1979-1980 (MS 603/1);
  • Proof of evidence submitted by interested parties to the public inquiries. 1980 (MS 603/2);
  • Newspaper cuttings. 1980 (MS 603/3);
  • Traffic flow statistics, graph and plan. 1979-1980 (MS 603/4);
  • Circulars sent out by Lenton and Wollaton Park Resident's Association. 1979-1980 (MS 603/5).

Administrative / Biographical History

The collection was created by Peter Hoare, a local resident who, with the Lenton and WollatonPark Residents Association, objected to the 1979 scheme to change the intersection of the A52 (DerbyRoad) and A614 (Ring Road: Middleton and Clifton Boulevards) at Wollaton in Nottingham. Theproposals involved the replacement of a crossroads with a roundabout and underpass.

The original order of the collection has been retained.
