These categories represent Barker's working methods and include 'for the introduction' and 'unsuitable for the illustrations'. There is a selection of cards which have been labelled individually according to what type of card Barker considered them to be. There is a selection of period illustrations which were intended to be paired with the written statements. There are copies of written material for the book and a book cover enclosing a selection of cards labelled 'No', presumably rejected examples for the book. Also included is a lined noted pad containing notes about Autograph books, a post-it note listing the types of card Barker identified and an autograph book with examples in it.
