Short score (in pencil) for string orchestra. Autograph music manuscript, with Britten's signature to title page (f. 1). The manuscript is not dated.

The theme is taken from the second of Bridge's Three Idylls for string quartet, Op. 6.

Dedication (f. 1v): 'To FB - himself / His integrity / His energy / His charm / His wit / His tradition / His enthusiasm / His vitality / His symapthy (understanding) / His reverence / His skill / Our affection'.
