Scope and Content

Miscellaneous letters and papers of Rev. William Robert Hay (1761-1839), rector of Ackworth, Yorkshire (1802-1839), vicar of Rochdale, Lancashire (1820-1839), and prebendary of York (1806-1839). He was the son of the Hon. Edward Hay, HM Envoy Extraordinary to the Court of Portugal, and grandson of George Henry Hay, 7th Earl of Kinnoull.
