The United Commercial Travellers' Association was founded in 1883 and merged with the Association of Scientific, Technical and Managerial Staffs in 1976.

Conditions Governing Access

Access : Written permission from Manufacturing, Science, Finance is required before access allowed to the records; unpublished material may not be consulted for ten years after its composition; Manufacturing, Science, Finance's approval is to be sought for the publication of previously unpublished material.

The archive has been given the classification MSS.79 together with a unique suffix to indicate that it is a constituent part of the papers of the Association of Scientific, Technical and Managerial Staffs (now part of Manufacturing, Science, Finance) .
