Administrative / Biographical History

The Scots Language Resource Centre gathers material in or on Scots. The Centre works with other organisations to develop new teaching resources and it acts as an information exchange for folk organisations and material concerning the Scots tongue. The SLRC is funded by the Scottish Arts Council and Perth and Kinross Council and gets additional money from members and people that support the Scots tongue. The Centre is in the AK Bell library in Perth and is staffed every day. The SLRC is a member of the European Bureau of Lesser Used Language (EBLUL) and takes part in the meetings of the Scottish ParliamentÂ’s cross party group on the Scots language.

Access Information

Open for consultation subject to preservation requirements. Access must also conform to the restrictions of the Data Protection Act and any other appropriate legislation.
