Administrative / Biographical History

UCATT was formed in 1971 by the amalgamation of the Amalgamated Society of Woodworkers and Decorators and the Amalgamated Union of Building Trade Workers, themselves the results of several amalgamations.

Custodial History

The archive was deposited on indefinite loan in the Centre on the 9th November 1977. The papers were collected by van from the UCATT London Region headquarters in Dartford. Accruals are detailed below.

  • 2nd March 1988 : 2 volumes delivered from Romford branch.
