DEPOSITION: The deponent took down the evidence given to the referees in writing and believes it correct. When he was absent either Mr. Goodman or the clerk of Mr. Oliver, the secretary to the referees, took down the evidence. This deponent ordered a copy of the evidence to be sent to Mr. Williams.
Before leaving Oswestry he asked to compare his minutes with those of Mr. Oliver. (but was refused?). After the lease was questioned the cases on both sides should be read. Mr. Leigh, agent for the defence objected to the plaintiffs knowing his case. The deponent believed the defence's case had much matter that was not at issue in this case. Mr. Leigh said that all matters in difference between the parties should be referred.
