Rainy was not surprised that Armour did not accept Adams’ offer. Through Dr Balmanno’s influence Armour has been appointed one the surgeons of the newly built fever hospitals. Rainy saw Dr Lockhart some time ago. Lockhart does not think any letter from him about Mackenzie would have any influence with Bailey. Gives an account for rent of Mackenzie’s house.
