Rainy has delivered Mackenzie’s letter to Geddes and has informed many of Mackenzie’s friends of his intentions. Some people say that Turnbull, Pattison’s dissector, has gone to America. Pattison’s lease on rooms at the College have expired but the proprietors will not come to any new agreement until Pattison or his friend give it up. The proprietors will inform Rainy before they let it again. Mackenzie should come up straight away as it is impossible get everything arranged for the lectures in his absence.
