Is anxious to get some of the Italian medical and surgical works and would like details of the collection Mackenzie acquired in Italy. Asks Mackenzie to purchase medical books (named) for him. Encloses three notes of introduction for Mackenzie. Jager is Beer’s assistant and Pohl is a Saxon “lately settled in Vienna a great literary character & musicante.” Asks to be remembered to Nowiski and if Mackenzie knows Reissinger to ask him to bring one of Dupuytrens instruments for artificial anus. Gives details of the German currency.
