Letter from Dr Richard Millar, Glasgow to W. Mackenzie

Scope and Content

Requires information on the renumerations given by London Hospitals as there is a proposal to augment the salaries of the physicians and surgeons at the Infirmary. Millar praises “the little tract” that Mackenzie sent him and has also “a number of the new Review in which you are concerned. It is well executed & will I think be an exceedingly useful work. The Continent was so long shut by the war, that we had fallen far behind in our information relative to what was passing in the branches connected with our profession. - I am glad to hear from my friend Maxwell that you are getting on in practice - Persevere steadily, & there is no danger of your success.”
