Has not been well. Voyage from Glasgow to Falkirk was “very disagreeable.” Was “much struck with the beauty of the new town of Edinbr, the houses of which look more like palaces than anything else.” Has taken lodgings at George Street at Mrs Clarks. Is attending the classes of Mr Russel, Dr Duncan and Hamilton. Has met Mr McNair with R. Pallisar. His trial is to take place on the 6th June.
