Correspondence and Plans: College land at Holyhead

Scope and Content

CORRESPONDENCE AND PLANS: (1851) College land at Holyhead with the view to laying the estate out for building purposes and advising as to the character and description of houses to be built.

It is stated that as the College land is divided into so many small plots, very intermixed with the other properties a scheme was not possible.

As the demand in Holyhead was only for one class of houses (the smallest) the only recommendations are that no street should be less than 30 feet wide, each house have a yard or garden not less than 20 feet deep, each house have a detached privy with drainage, proper party walls and the ground floor 1 foot aboe the street paving.

Also request from Robert Pritchard of Boston St., Holyhead to purchase the land leased to him (1884) and bill for survey work (1866).
