Copy of a letter from John Warren to Baxter, remarking severely on his Aphorismes (London, 1649, 12 mo. Calamy calls this ‘The first book he published’, Abridgement, p. 691) defending Mr Walker; and sending to him the foregoing MS.

Note

Mr Walker is George Walker (1581?-1651), rector of St John Evangelist, Watling Street, in the City of London, from 1614 until his death. Baxter was criticising Walker’s book Socinianisme in the fundamentall point of justification discovered, and confuted, or, An answer to a written pamphlet maintaining that faith is in a proper sense without a trope imputed to beleevers in justification (1641).
