which Lieutenant-General George John Belson (1787-1868), Royal Horse Artillery, kept during the Peninsula War and the campaign in the South of France, 1809-14, together with a photocopy of a letter from Alan Guy of the National Army Museum to Colonel P.C.E. Belson about the diary, 20 January 1993, and a photocopy of a page from the original diary.

The diary contains a detailed account of George Belson's life during the Peninsula Campaign and the actions he was involved in. The original is held at the National Army Museum, reference NAM 9203-51.
