The short story was developed into a play and broadcast by the BBC, 25 March 1965, directed by Charles Jarrott. First staged in a double bill with 'The Basement' at Eastside Playhouse, New York, Oct. 1968, directed by James Hammerstein. First staged in UK at the Duchess Theatre, 17 Sept. 1970, directed by James Hammerstein. Short story first published in Playboy, Jan. 1965.
