Pinter Archive. 'The Collection'; [circa 1961-1962]. Mostly typewritten. Entitled 'The Glass Eye' in early drafts. First broadcast as a television play by the independent television company Associated Rediffusion on 11 May 1961. First staged by the Royal Shakespeare Company at the Aldwych theatre, 18 June 1962, directed by Peter Hall and Harold Pinter. Published as The Collection and The Lover, Methuen (1963) and The Collection: A Play in One Act, Samuel French (1963). The British Library holds papers relating to the licensing of the play (LC PLAYS 1962/30 and LCP CORR 1962/2660). [Previous reference: Loan 110A/7].
