Scope and Content

Correspondence mainly relating to destination and subsequent fate of seed specimens collected on expeditions to China, including the Sino-British Expedition to the Cangshan mountain range (SBEC), 1981. Includes lists of surplus plants from the 1981 expedition available from gardens and nurseries, including RHS Garden Wisley and Sunningdale Nurseries, correspondence with individual gardeners, gardens and nurseries relating to germination of seeds from China, including with John Bond at Windsor Great Park, Adrian Bloom at Bressingham, Charles Puddle at Bodnant and Cambridge University Botanic Garden

It is unclear whether the papers relate exclusively to the Sino-British Expedition to the Cangshan mountain range in Sep 1981 in which Roy Lancaster participated, or if some relate to other seed-collecting expeditions to China in the same year

These papers were originally housed in a file with metal fastenings, discarded; a photocopy of the label is with the papers
