Scope and Content

A collection of correspondence and miscellaneous papers received by the editor of Y Dinesydd Cymreig, Percy Ogwen Jones, dated 1924-1928. Includes details regarding financial matters, Labour movements outside Wales and a dispute at a Literary Meeting in Garndolbenmaen. Amongst the literary figures corresponding are R. Silyn Roberts, John Morris-Jones, Sam Jones and R. Williams Parry.

Administrative / Biographical History

Y Dinesydd Cymreig (The Welsh Citizen) was the leading Welsh weekly newspaper of the Labour Party in north Wales. Published every Wednesday, the first issue came out on 8 May 1912 and the last issue was dated 10 July 1929. The editor was Percy Ogwen Jones.
