Scope and Content

N.B. according to 'Y Bywgraffiadur Cymreig', William Jacob (1777-1845) was a native of the Camarthen area, and after moving to Holywell from Manchester, was appointed precentor at Pendref Welsh Wesleyan Methodist Church. William Jacob had two sons and two or three daughters who were good musicians, and the family did much to improve the taste of Church music in Wales in the 19th century.
