Administrative / Biographical History

The Welsh Agricultural Organisation Society (W. A. O. S.), founded in 1922, is the central organisation for agricultural co-operatives in Wales. The role of the Welsh Agricultural Organisation Society Ltd is to promote and develop agricultural and horticultural collaboration, and to provide business and marketing services to farmer-controlled businesses in Wales. In Flintshire, its members included Farmers' Associations and Flintshire Woodlands Ltd; it also promoted crop and livestock improvement and rabbit clearance.
