Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The Burma Star Association was started in 1951, with the primary objects of keeping alive the comradeships formed in Burma and relief of distress amongst Burma Star Holders and their dependants. The Burma Star Association, Deeside (Clwyd) Branch was formed as the result of a meeting held at the Pied Bull Inn, Chester Road, Buckley on 2 December 1975 and the branch closed on 31 December 2005. Standards are laid up at the parish church of St Mary, Mold, Flintshire.

Series D/DM/774/A belonged to the late H Griffiths, 4201942 Fusilier A Company 2/R.W.F. and were formally deposited by his wife Mrs Mary Griffiths, Flint, with the Burma Star Association (Deeside Branch), who in turn deposited the items on indefinite loan (Accession No. AN1805) at Flintshire Record Office in April 1982.
Accession AN4223 was donated to Flintshire Record Office in 2009 on behalf of the Burma Star Association Deeside (Clwyd) Branch (it had closed in 2005) by the former secretary of the branch. AN4253 was donated by the former secretary of the branch.
