A series of maps of the estates in Ireland bestowed by King William III in 1700 on Henri de Massue de Ruvigny, Earl of Galway, compiled by Peter Guerin, Deputy Surveyor General, 18 folios: (fo. 2) elaborate title page with the arms of the grantee; (fo. 3v) map and survey of the parish of Lea, Queen's County; (fo. 5v) survey and map of the parish of Ballykean, King's County; (fo. 7v) survey and map of the parish of Clonyhurk, King's County; (fo. 9v) survey and map of the parish of Harristown and Ballybrackan, King's County; (fo. 11v) survey and map of the parish of Brannockstown, County Kildare; (fo. 13) statement of the total value of the estate. Attached to fo. 14 is a French plan of Limerick. The album includes a letter from John Charles Fox to Francis Jenkinson, 11 October 1905.

Administrative / Biographical History
Henri de Massue de Ruvigny, 2nd Marquis de Ruvigny, and Earl of Galway (1648-1720), was born in Paris on 9 April 1648. He entered the French army, and served in Portugal. He was sent subsequently to England, where he settled in 1688. He served in Ireland under King William III in 1692, and was made Viscount Galway and Baron Portarlington in 1692, and Earl of Galway in 1697. In 1697 he was appointed lord justice of Ireland. He retired from Ireland in 1701, and in 1704 was made commander of the English forces in Portugal. He was recalled in 1710, and became lord justice in Ireland in 1715, retiring in 1716. He died on 3 September 1720.
