NOTES AND TRANSCRIPTS COLLECTION

Scope and Content

This collection has been created by Flintshire Record Office as a home for the large amount of Flintshire-related secondary source material that has been collected over the years; it performs a similar function to the D/DM collection of minor archival deposits with the difference that almost all the minor deposits in the NT/ collection are not primary but secondary source material.

As the title implies, there are a great number of historical notes relating to Flintshire within the collection, including a large number of published articles, in particular from 'Country Quest' magazine.

The 'transcripts' element of the collection includes photocopies and transcripts of material from both Flintshire Record Office and elsewhere, and includes Flintshire Record Office's copies of Parish and Nonconformist registers; in some cases these are the only copies available due to the originals being held elsewhere or not surviving.
