Administrative / Biographical History
There was a handful of Welsh Baptists in Chester as early as 1858, who attended the English Baptist Chapel in Hamilton Place. By 1859 they were granted permission to conduct meetings in Welsh. In 1860, they moved from Hamilton Place to a room in the former chapel of the Congregationalists in Back Brook Street.
The minister for the Welsh Baptist Chapel in Chester in 1950 was Ieuan A. Jenkins. He preached his last sermon in 1958.
